Obituary
Mrs. Margaret Juanita Van Court McPherson, age 91, of West Jefferson passed away Thursday, February 9, 2023 at her home.
A memorial service will be held later in Orlando, Florida.
Mrs. McPherson was born on Teachey, NC on July 16, 1931 to the late Edward Martin and Beatrice McMillan Van Court. She worked as a postal carrier until retirement.
She was also preceded in death by three sons, Robert Lee Phillips, Jr., Barry Franklin Phillips and Edward Martin Phillips; a grandson, Frankie Branton; a brother, Elmer Ray Van Court; a sister Christine Phillips.
Mrs. McPherson is survived by: two daughters, Cindy Davis of West Jefferson and Alice Branton of Orlando, Florida; a sister, Francis Fortenberry of West Jefferson; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
