CHARLES "CHARLIE"'S OBITUARY

Charlie Hearn affectionately known as “Lil C”, passed away on Monday, September 26, 2022 at New Regional Medical Center. Charlie was born on July 19, 1986, a local from Castle Hayne, North Carolina. He is the son of Noel Nelson Hearn and Bessie Mydette Hearn. Charles Hearn had a lengthy battle with multiple health problems throughout the 36 years of his short life.

Charlie held compassion for all with a huge heart, and a strong desire for the Lord. This led Charlie to become a pastor at the Upper Room ministry; led by Tim and Tessa Houska who mentored Charlie with love and guidance. This started his role in doing the Lord’s work. Charlie continued attending tent revivals, street ministry, and teen outreach programs with joy. While living here in Wilmington, NC, he attended barber school in Jacksonville, NC. His strong will to overcome carried him back and forth daily to graduate barber school. He offered his services here locally on 10th and 12th streets at various barber shops here in the Port City. Charlie was awarded an achievement award from our Wilmington mayor for his outstanding service from the disability commission. In which he never let his disability get the best of him, he always lived as if he was larger than life. He is survived by his parents, brother John McMillan Hearn, his beloved niece and nephews, numerous cousins, friends and family.

A funeral service will be held at Andrews Funeral Home at 1617 Market St. on Saturday Oct 8th at 3:00pm. The service will be held by Tessa Houska from the Upper Room with other local pastors speaking on Charlie's behalf. Then Charlie will be cremated on this day upon his wishes. The Hearn family will receive friends on Friday Oct 7th 4pm-6pm where all are welcomed at the Andrews Funeral Home Chapel at 1617 Market St.

The family would also like a special thank you, to all the friends and family. In which they showed love and compassion for Charlie throughout his life. He will be dearly missed but never forgotten for he was “one of a kind”. A truth seeker and a soldier for our Lord and savior.
